Edit the price factor of a channel
It is possible to differentiate the price list rates you send to each channel by editing a price factor in the channel settings. This can also be used to ensure that your own website is always the cheapest option for your guests.
Go to 'Channels' in your administration settings.
Select any channel, and click 'Edit'. Among the general settings, you’ll find a price factor.
This factor is set to 1 by default. This means that the prices advertised on this channel are (price list rates x 1).
Edit the factor to raise or lower the advertised prices for this channel. Example: To add 15%, increase the default factor with the percentage decimal (1 + 0.15 = 1.15).
Compensating for channel commission
The price factor can be used to compensate for the commission that the channel charges you for the use of their platform. Always use the formula below, especially if you want to easily cancel out this increase in owner settlements.
To end up with the original base rate after the channel commission has been deducted, you have to increase the factor with a slightly higher number.
Use this formula: Price factor = 1 / (1 - commission decimal)
For some channel partners, like Booking.com, Airbnb, and Expedia, you can also set a price factor in the app settings, for various rate plans. This works in the same way as described above, so be careful not to apply both at the same time.
